Full Job Description

We are looking for a finance professional who wants to get closer to the operation. Not just reporting on the numbers - but understanding them, explaining them and helping the people behind them make better decisions.

Cement Australia is a business built on heavy industry - kilns, mills, mines and a distribution network that spans the country. Our finance team sits at the heart of that, partnering directly with operational leaders to drive cost ownership and performance. This role sits within that team, and it is a genuine opportunity to develop your commercial skills in an environment where the numbers matter on the ground.

Your Opportunity

In this role you will:

Deliver accurate, high quality management reporting and financial analysis for assigned business units
Acting as key finance partner for operational and non-financial managers to help them understand and act on financial information and translating complex financial information into business insights
Own month end close processes including general ledger reconciliations and P&L reporting
Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities for your assigned business area
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline reporting and accounting workflows including development and automation of reports on assigned business unit
Support internal and external audits and assist with audit queries
Collaborate with the broader Operations Accounting team to share knowledge and maintain consistent approaches

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in commerce or accounting
CPA or CA membership - or working towards it
3-5 years experience in Finance Business partnering, financial or management accounting or started in chartered firm and has since moved to commercial finance environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail
Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis capability
Comfortable communicating financial information to a non-finance audience
A hands-on, results-focused approach with the ability to manage competing priorities
SAP experience advantageous but not essential
