The Role – Solid Plasterer

MRGRENDERING PTY LTD is seeking a motivated and reliable Plasterer to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to grow and develop your skills within a supportive team environment.

The successful applicant will report to the site supervisor daily,

Duties/Tasks are

Assessing partitions to determine plaster layout

Measuring, clearly marking and cutting materials to size

Making incisions to access window openings, installing installation, applying adhesive to partitions

Lifting, carrying and positioning plasterboard and fastening to walls, battens or ceilings using nails or screws and other apparatus where needed

Potentially fitting and installing mouldings

Ensuring all joins and screw are closed using a sealing mixture

Sand /Smoothen surfaces/Planes using sandpaper or power sanders

Hand tools such as Stanley knives, hammers, tape measures, levels, hand trowels, sanding blocks, hand saws and screw drivers are used (being familiar with the above would be advantageous)

Ensure fireproofing materials are correctly bonded with plaster and other materials where necessary

determining plasterboard layout, and installing insulation and vapour barriers

measuring, marking and cutting plasterboard, lifting and positioning panels, and securing them to walls, ceilings and battens

preparing corner beads and securing them in position

fixing pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings

covering joins and nail holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds, and smoothing them using wet brushes and sandpaper

mixing and applying coats of plaster, cement and render to structures using trowels, and levelling and smoothing coats to uniform thickness

plumbing and straightening corners, angles and wall and ceiling surfaces

creating decorative textures in finishing coats

applying and finishing acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster, plastic cement and similar materials.

Installing, testing and adjusting electric and mechanical parts of lifts.

To be considered for this position the successful applicant will need to have the following qualifications or skills:

AQF Certificate III or IV in the relevant field,

And

A minimum of 1 year experience in the field. Three years’ work experience will substitute for the formal qualification.

Salary: $85,000.00 per year plus superannuation
