Role Description:
We have an excellent opportunity for a Capability Delivery Engineering Lead to join our team within JORN LOB.
The JORN(Sustainment) HW, SW & ICT Capability Delivery Stream Engineering Lead, reporting to the JORN Delivery Stream Project Manager, is responsible for the technical aspect of a portfolio of up to 10 medium sized projects and a number of smaller projects. Projects will be across multiple technical domains (Electronics, Hardware, Radio Frequency & Systems)
Core Duties:
- Technical project strategy planning, through project evaluation & execution and technical management of the projects while evaluating risk, cost and performance.
- Responsible for the technical solution of all Delivery Stream projects and ensuring engineering is carried out in accordance with JORN processes
- Lead Project planning and estimating with support of the company estimating tool and planning team.
- Manage the engineering aspects of project bids and accountable for producing a breakdown of project activities
- Contribute to brainstorming & developing potential project and technical risks while evaluating potential mitigation strategies and consequences.
- Technical point of contact for the customer for all Delivery Stream projects
- Support engineers to meet project schedule dates, where required
- Act as Agile Product Owner to plan and manage monthly sprints progress via JIRA
About You
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree (preferably within an Electronic or Electrical).
- Experience in delivering complex engineering solutions and technical project planning.
- Demonstrated ability to work under own initiative to deliver outputs to time, quality and cost whilst managing competing demands from multiple stakeholders with limited oversight.
- Leadership and team work skills.
- Strong communication skills and able to build highly effective working relationships.
- Understanding of commercial, financial and project management principles.
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
JORN – Jindalee Operational Radar Network
The Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) is a connected series of three remote over-the-horizon radars (OTHR) located in Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia. The state-of-the-art defence system provides wide-area surveillance at ranges of 1,000 to 3,000 kilometres and plays a vital role in supporting the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) air and maritime operations, border protection, disaster relief and rescue operations
