The Opportunity
PROK is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our Applications Engineering team on a full-time permanent basis in Bayswater, WA.
Reporting to the Principal Engineer - Applications, this is an exciting opportunity for a recent engineering graduate to gain hands-on experience across product design, estimating, manufacturing support, and customer-facing engineering activities. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and industry specialists while building a strong foundation in bulk materials handling and conveyor component design.
As your experience develops, you'll have opportunities to engage directly with customers, understand operational challenges, perform engineering assessments, and contribute to the delivery of innovative, safe, and reliable solutions for some of Australia's leading mining and industrial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare estimates for conveyor pulley and idler projects and aftermarket opportunities.
Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production routings within ERP systems.
Assist with product design activities and engineering calculations.
Support drafting, drawing updates, and engineering documentation.
Identify opportunities to improve product performance and reliability.
Provide engineering support during equipment strip-down, refurbishment, and reassembly activities.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and sales teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Participate in customer discussions and provide technical recommendations as your experience develops.
About You
We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic graduate who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a dynamic engineering environment.
You’ll bring:
Recent degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics Engineering or related engineering discipline.
Understanding of engineering standards and design principles.
Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Exposure to CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
A collaborative approach and willingness to learn from experienced professionals.
Experience in a workshop, refurbishment facility, or heavy industrial environment advantageous.
Exposure to bulk materials handling equipment beneficial.
