Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract basis in Sydney, New South Wales. You’ll take responsibility for analysis, planning and testing of user stories and bugs in our system. The role executes all phases of the QA process—from planning through release validation—ensuring quality objectives are achieved end-to-end.
Roles and responsibilities
Test Analysis and Planning
- Analyse Acceptance Criteria
- Liaise with Developers/ Business Analysts/ Product Manager
- Sprint test planning
Test Execution
- Perform Functional, Systems and Integration Testing
- Perform API Testing using Swagger/Postman
- Run basic SQL queries to verify data in database
- Perform retesting of bug fixes
Document Test Artefacts
- Write test cases/scenarios or test checklist of different combinations of the Acceptance Criteria
- Write Positive and Negative Scenarios
UAT Support
- Prepare UAT test data
- Assist business users in performing UAT
- Work closely with business team in identifying E2E critical business workflows and scenarios
- Perform Regression Testing
- UAT issues monitoring until closure
How to succeed
We are looking for someone with the following:
- 3+ years prior experience in a similar role
- Agile testing processes and methodology
- API testing using Swagger/Postman
- Basic to intermediate Playwright skills
- Some test automation experience would be advantageous but not essential (C#, .net, Selenium web driver – nice to have)
- Experience with Azure DevOps & SharePoint
- Good understanding of the SDLC
- Basic SQL skills with an understanding of JSON and XML
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience within financial services industry is highly desirable
- Must have Australian working rights (citizen or PR)
