The Opportunity
Asia-Pacific is one of the fastest-moving enterprise AI markets in the world — and the buyers, competitive dynamics, and adoption patterns in the region are distinct from any other geography Smartsheet serves. Enterprises in APJ are evaluating AI capabilities with urgency, but their buying criteria, integration ecosystems, and trust frameworks differ meaningfully from those in North America or Europe. Smartsheet needs an AI product marketing leader embedded in the region who can translate our global AI narrative into locally resonant positioning that wins.
As a Sr Product Marketing Manager on the AI GTM Strategy team, you will be the in-region AI product marketing partner for Smartsheet's APJ sales organization. You will own the regional activation of Smartsheet's AI narrative — including organizational intelligence, agentic workflows, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) positioning — ensuring APJ field teams can lead differentiated AI conversations with enterprise buyers across the region.
This is not a generalist PMM role. You will own the intersection of AI product marketing and regional field activation across APJ, working at the pace of a rapidly evolving product surface and a field organization operating in one of the most competitive enterprise software markets globally.
This remote eligible role is based in APJ and will report to the VP, AI GTM Strategy.
What You Will Own
AI Narrative Activation — APJ
- Execute the regional activation of Smartsheet's global AI narrative across APJ field teams, adapting messaging for the distinct market maturity levels, buying behaviors, and competitive landscapes across key APJ sub-regions (ANZ, Japan, Southeast Asia, India).
- Develop APJ-specific AI positioning guides that address regional buyer priorities — including local integration ecosystem requirements, data residency expectations, and culturally specific enterprise buying processes.
- Maintain a living understanding of how AI messaging resonates differently across APJ markets and adjust field guidance accordingly, with particular attention to the distinct enterprise dynamics in Japan versus ANZ versus emerging Southeast Asian markets.
AI Sales Enablement — Regional Delivery
- Serve as the primary AI enablement resource for APJ field teams — translating global enablement packages (training decks, demo scripts, prompt cookbooks, competitive briefs) into regionally relevant, sales-ready formats.
- Partner with Sales Enablement to deliver AI-specific training sessions, certifications, and deal support for APJ account executives and solution engineers, accommodating time zone coverage and regional sales cadences.
- Build and maintain the APJ AI content suite in Smartsheet's Enablement platform : discovery slides, AI use-case messaging guides, MCP value narratives, and competitive positioning against regional alternatives.
- Track enablement adoption through leading indicators including Gong keyword usage, Highspot engagement, and qualitative field feedback on content quality and deal impact.
MCP & Platform Extensibility — APJ GTM Support
- Support the regional go-to-market activation for Smartsheet's MCP platform, including multi-connector capabilities, partner integrations, and agentic workflow positioning.
- Develop APJ-specific MCP use-case content that connects platform extensibility to the integration ecosystems and workflow patterns prevalent in APJ enterprise environments — including regional ERP, ITSM, and collaboration platforms.
- Partner with APJ partner teams to align AI and MCP messaging with regional channel and technology alliance strategies, with particular attention to system integrator relationships and regional technology partnerships.
AI Customer Activation — APJ
- Develop and deliver regional AI activation programs that help APJ customers move from initial AI feature adoption to embedded organizational intelligence workflows.
- Partner with APJ Customer Success to build AI-specific customer engagement frameworks, including AI readiness assessments, use-case workshops, and adoption milestone tracking adapted for regional enterprise contexts.
- Source and develop APJ customer proof points, case studies, and reference stories that demonstrate AI-driven business outcomes — prioritizing regionally recognizable enterprises and industry contexts.
Competitive Intelligence — AI in APJ
- Maintain current competitive intelligence on AI positioning from competitors active in APJ markets.
- Develop APJ-specific competitive battle cards and objection-handling guides that address how competitors position AI capabilities to buyers in the region, including locally dominant platforms that may not feature prominently in global competitive analysis.
- Provide regular competitive briefings to APJ field leadership on shifts in competitor AI messaging, product launches, and regional market positioning.
AI Thought Leadership & Market Presence — APJ
- Support Smartsheet's AI thought leadership presence at APJ industry events, analyst briefings, and regional marketing campaigns.
- Develop regionally relevant AI content (blog posts, webinar scripts, event presentations) that builds Smartsheet's credibility as an AI-forward platform in APJ markets.
- Partner with APJ demand generation to integrate AI messaging into regional campaign strategy and execution.

How You Will Drive Business Value
- Accelerate APJ pipeline influenced by AI positioning by ensuring field teams can lead credible, differentiated AI conversations with enterprise buyers from first contact through expansion.
- Improve APJ win rates in competitive deals where AI capabilities are a decision factor by delivering sharp, regionally relevant competitive positioning that accounts for the distinct competitive landscape in each APJ sub-region.
- Drive AI-led expansion within the APJ installed base by equipping Customer Success with activation frameworks and use-case content that open new AI-driven conversations in existing accounts.
- Build Smartsheet's regional brand as an AI leader in the APJ enterprise work management market through concentrated field activation, customer evidence, and thought leadership.
What You Will Bring
- 8+ years of experience in product marketing, solutions marketing, or GTM strategy in a B2B SaaS environment, with meaningful time spent in or supporting APJ markets.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Direct experience translating global product narratives into regionally activated field content and sales enablement for APJ enterprise audiences.
- Working knowledge of AI and automation concepts sufficient to engage credibly with technical buyers, solution engineers, and product teams on AI-related topics — you do not need to be a data scientist, but you need to understand the conversation.
- Deep familiarity with APJ enterprise buying dynamics, including the distinct sales cycles, partner ecosystems, and cultural considerations that shape how enterprise software is evaluated and adopted across the region.
- Strong writing and messaging skills — able to take complex AI product capabilities and turn them into clear, buyer-resonant value claims that work across diverse APJ markets.
- Comfort working directly with Sales, Customer Success, and field teams across multiple APJ sub-regions to validate, iterate, and activate positioning in real time.
- Proactive and self-directed, with the ability to bring structure to complex, fast-moving environments while juggling multiple high-stakes relationships
- Experience with competitive intelligence and the ability to maintain current, actionable competitive views in a fast-moving, regionally diverse market.
