Role Description:
As the Project Practitioner, you'll support the planning, coordination and delivery of projects within our Shipbuilding business, working alongside experienced Project Managers and key stakeholders to achieve project objectives across scope, schedule and cost.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in project management at BAE. You'll gain exposure to all stages of the project lifecycle, developing your skills in project planning, stakeholder management, risk management, reporting and project governance while contributing to the successful delivery of project outcomes.
As your capability grows, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of smaller projects and workstreams, applying your project management skills in a complex and rewarding environment while building a long-term career within the defence industry
Core Duties:
- Support the Project Manager with planning and delivery of straight forward to complex projects
- Identify opportunities and prepare Business Cases
- Define project goals and objectives, develop project plans and timelines
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation management plans
- Manage project budgets and tracking project expenses
- Support the development and implementation of Business Plans
- Hands on, actively engage and communicate with key stakeholders and drive projects to a successful conclusion
Essential Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in project management mindset and ideally studying towards a Diploma in Project Management.
- Self-driven with a genuine passion for project management and a desire to develop and grow within a project delivery environment.
- Ability to partner with and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to obtain the necessary deliverables
- Willingness to learn, give everything a go and ask lots of questions to expand your knowledge
- The ability to identify and solve complex problems, think critically and innovate
- An existing Australian Defence Security Clearance or the ability to meet the application requirements.
- Eligibility to obtain NV1 Defence security clearance
