About the Role
Join Babcock’s JP9101 Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communications System (EDHFCS) program and lead a talented team responsible for delivering software verification activities that underpin one of Australia’s most significant Defence communications capabilities.
As the Software Test Team Lead, you will help deliver a resilient, next-generation communications capability that enables the Australian Defence Force and its allies to communicate securely in the most demanding operational environments.
Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you’ll drive the development of modern test strategies, frameworks and methodologies while leading technical investigations, managing risk and championing continuous improvement.
You’ll mentor and develop your team, contribute to engineering process improvements and engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders to ensure software solutions are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
About You
You are an experienced Software Test professional with a passion for leading people and delivering quality outcomes across complex software-intensive systems.
You have proven experience developing test strategies, plans, procedures, reports and Verification Cross Reference Matrices (VCRMs), together with selecting and managing appropriate test tools and environments throughout the software development lifecycle.
Comfortable making sound technical decisions, you have a strong understanding of verification and validation principles, technical risk management and engineering governance within highly regulated environments.
Just as importantly, you’re a collaborative and engaging leader who enjoys developing people and building high-performing teams.

To be successful in this position you will bring:
Extensive relevant experience in relatable technical roles
A good understanding of applicable test toolsets (e.g. Web API Test Tools, Test Automation Frameworks, test scripts etc.)
Hold an accredited degree in engineering (under the Washington Accord)
Experience leading a team
Experience with Australian Defence Acceptance Testing activities
Strong ability to develop, or improve on, test processes to ensure a quality developed product
