Full Job Description

Casual $34 – $37 per hour fully loaded + shared tips

Soi Fire is Australia's first Thai grill house. We are hiring a Commis / Grill Support — the peak-day flex role that keeps the fire flowing.

The role. Grill prep and feed. Skewer threading. Portioning. Holding hot proteins ready for the Sous. Runs the deep fryer for fish cake, lobster roll, and pork belly. Pot wash during quiet moments. Fri–Sun service, casual basis.

What you bring. Speed, reliability, and grill instinct. Culinary school isn't the qualification here — a season on a busy char grill is. If you can hold pace at 30+ plates through the fire per hour without dropping quality, this is your role. Apprentices welcome to apply.

Must have full working rights in Australia. No sponsorship available.

Trading pattern. Fri (4pm – 11pm), Sat (4pm – 11pm), Sun (12pm – 9pm). Three shifts a week, casual loading, weekend penalties built in.

What you receive. Fully loaded hourly rate above (includes casual loading and weekend penalties). Shared tip pool participation. Meals on shift. A genuine learning environment under a hatted chef-owner. Grill technique training from day one.
