Role Description:
We have an exciting opportunity as the Test & Commissioning (T&C) Mechanical Engineer, working as directed within a team made up of engineers to provide support to the T&C operational staff members, assisting with major evolutions and delivering the T&C engineering documents required to set to work and test the ships systems in accordance with the Engineering, Verification and Program requirements.
You will assist the T&C Engineering Team by ensuring the mechanical structures, elements and systems of the HCF T&C program are supported with Engineering Data and assist at critical evolutions of the project.
Core Duties:
- Provide Developing, validation and tailoring T&C processes, instructions, capability sheets, handbooks and practices from Learning from Experience (LfE) sources, best practices, industry standards and legislation to the Hunter Class
- Provide Engineering support to the T&C team to mature the Operations Build Strategy and T&C STW Plans, and other deliverables as required.
- Support the review of HCF T&C product changes and the effect on the T&C program
- Providing mechanical engineering judgement within delegated authority to ensure solutions are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose across T&C activities
- Leading investigation and resolution of mechanical and system-level issues arising during integration and commissioning, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
- Responsible for working collaboratively with the HCF T&C team to execute the T&C program scope, including identification of necessary skillsets, training/upskilling and cross-training of resources to mitigate against single points of failure
Essential Skills:
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- 3-6 years of trade industry experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
