About the Role
This role plays a key part in supporting the Underwriting team to deliver an excellent client service. You will help manage the operational workflow of the team, enabling underwriters to focus on production and underwriting activity. The role involves a varied mix of administrative, technical and customer service responsibilities, including entering data into underwriting and other systems, reviewing policy documents, handling broker, accounting and policy queries, and supporting underwriters with renewal and new business submissions.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure bookings are registered within required timeframes and to the highest quality standards, following a right-first-time approach
- Act as the first point of contact for processing complex business
- Liaise with operations to resolve queries relating to new business submissions and ensure timely registration
- Review name clearance results to help maintain Chubb’s reserving rights
- Prepare underwriting files for both renewal and new business, including inputting data into underwriting systems, compiling market research and completing raters
- Liaise with brokers and internal departments regarding credit control, claims and risk information
- Chase brokers for outstanding binding instructions or subjectivities
- Review policy documents produced by Operations and create ad hoc documents where required
- Assist with the reconciliation of aged finance items
- Ensure underwriting files are complete, meet audit requirements and support the transition of policies into the National Underwriting Centre
- Keep policy tracking and workflow tools accurate and up to date at all times
- Support the development and implementation of business processing tools by acting as a subject matter expert and assisting with requirements gathering and UAT
- Carry out any other ad hoc duties allocated by the Team Leader
