At Fusion5, we're not just technology partners - we're Transformation Partners. Across Australia and New Zealand, we help organisations go beyond individual platforms to design and deliver connected, future-ready solutions that create real business impact.
Our Managed Services Security Practice continues to grow, supporting complex security initiatives for some of our most strategic and highly regulated customers. We're now looking for a
Senior Security Consultant to take on the most senior delivery-focused technical role within the practice.
This is a hands-on, front-of-room consulting role for someone who thrives on leading complex engagements while mentoring the team around them. You'll work alongside the Security Team Lead as a senior escalation point for consultants, project teams and customers, balancing deep technical delivery with coaching and capability uplift across the wider practice.
What You'll Do
You'll be trusted to operate as a senior consultant with real ownership. This includes:
- Leading the delivery of large, complex and strategically important security engagements, with a focus on data security and/or identity security.
- Acting as the primary technical resource for high-profile customer initiatives, from discovery through to implementation and transition.
- Running customer workshops, technical deep dives, design discussions and remediation planning sessions.
- Providing expert guidance across Microsoft Security technologies, translating customer requirements into practical, supportable outcomes.
- Supporting architecture and solution design conversations and ensuring the end result is fit for purpose and well understood by customer stakeholders - without owning the architecting yourself.
- Acting as a senior technical escalation point for complex security incidents and service issues.
- Coordinating and guiding delivery activities involving multiple consultants, while delegating appropriately without losing accountability for quality.
- Mentoring, coaching and supporting Security Consultants and Graduate Consultants, sharing knowledge through training, workshops and peer reviews.
- Contributing to Work Orders, Change Requests and effort estimates.
- Proactively identifying project risks and delivery challenges, working with Project Managers and Team Leads to resolve them.
What You'll Bring
This role suits an experienced security consultant who enjoys technical leadership, mentoring and customer trust in equal measure. You'll have:
- Extensive experience delivering Microsoft Security solutions in enterprise environments, ideally with strength in data security and/or identity security.
- A track record of leading complex technical security projects and engagements end-to-end.
- Strong customer engagement and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical execs and end users.
- Experience facilitating workshops, technical discovery sessions and implementation activities.
- A solid grasp of security best practice, governance frameworks and operational security requirements.
- Experience mentoring consultants and supporting capability development within technical teams.
- A current security clearance (baseline or above) or the ability to obtain one - highly desirable.
- Microsoft Security certifications (SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, SC-400, AZ-500 or equivalent), CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+ or GSEC - desirable but not essential if you bring strong real-world experience.
- Exposure to Huntress, ThreatLocker or AvePoint - desirable.
Please note that only candidates based in Melbourne or Sydney, with current and unrestricted rights to work in Australia, can be considered for this role.
What's in it for you?
"Go Beyond" isn't a marketing line at Fusion5, it's the standard we hold ourselves to. For our Security Practice, that means bringing together deep technical capability, trusted advisory and a commitment to protecting what matters most for our customers, with AI increasingly shaping how we deliver security outcomes.
At Fusion5, you'll have the autonomy to help shape a practice, the backing of an established trans-Tasman organisation, and the opportunity to work alongside people who truly care about outcomes - not just output. We're proud to be a diverse, inclusive and forward-thinking employer, and we're committed to creating a workplace where our people feel engaged, challenged, supported and successful. Alongside this, we offer a strong set of values and benefits that reflect how we work and what we stand for.
- A collaborative, down-to-earth culture where people truly enjoy working together.
- Flexible working arrangements and a strong focus on work-life balance.
- Birthday leave, volunteer days and regular social events.
- Opportunities for professional growth with clear development plans.
If you're a senior security consultant who enjoys technical leadership, mentoring and seeing engagements through to successful delivery - even if you don't tick every box - we'd love to hear from you.
