ASSOCIATE PROJECT MANAGER
The Associate Project Manager assists the Project Manager and broader Project Management Team in the end-to-end delivery of projects and sub-projects, ensuring they meet defined objectives and contractual obligations. The Associate Project Manager is responsible for supporting the outcomes of projects, including cost, schedule, scope, quality, and facilitate clear, consistent communication across a wide network of internal and external stakeholders to drive customer alignment and satisfaction, inclusive of any other project objectives as defined in the Contract/Project Directive.
Reporting to the Sustainment Program Manager the position will provide support to project management functions as described below.
Further, the successful candidate will:

Definition, management, and ownership of the assigned scope of work, including schedule, cost and quality outcomes.

Provide leadership, direction and delegation to the team, as required.

Development of the approach for the assigned scope to achieve outcomes as per Contract/Project Directive, including identification of opportunity to maximise outcomes.

Prepare, monitor and revise plans, estimates, cost accounts and schedules for the scope of work to meet the objectives set by the Contract/Project Directive.

Assess risk related to the assigned scope.

Lead and present status at Steering Committee Meetings, Gate Reviews, Customer Reviews and Progress Meetings

Manage Contract Variations and scope change as required.

Develop and maintain knowledge on the use of the solution.

Develop and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders.
Your skills and experience will include:
-
Tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering or in a business discipline
-
Experience meeting the requirement of the competency level as per above.
-
Experience in the leadership of systems projects.
-
Demonstrated understanding of the lifecycle of system development projects.
-
Demonstrated ability to lead staff within a team environment and to foster cooperation.
-
Proven ability in internal and external customer liaison.
-
Experience in producing and reviewing project documentation.
-
Demonstrated scheduling and planning skills.
-
Experience in Cost Schedule System Reporting (CSSR) or related Earned Value Management system.
Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to baseline/NV1/NV2 level.
