Full Job Description

6 months maximum term staff role. FIFO 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off
Underground Gold Mine located in NSW
FIFO from Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.

The Perks?

Pro rata entitlement to annual leave (6months = 2.5 weeks).

Want to pivot from open pit to underground? The future of mining is undoubtedly underground and metals. Also, we’ll still consider your application if you’re only familiar with open pit mining.

You’ll be embedded in our client’s team (operator).
Don't worry, you won't be dumped and forgotten.
We'll be checking in regularly during secondment.
Support, mentoring & technical back up from your Manager, Principals (AusIMM CPs, 15-25 years’ experience) and peers.
The mine is about to undergo significant expansion works, an interesting time!
Your chance to experience working alongside owner operator AND contractor teams.

The role is available due to recently transitioning the incumbent into another role. At MEC, we pride ourselves on providing opportunities for our people to diversify their technical capability and work across a variety of clients / projects.

What you’ll be doing

Data and reporting as directed by client team/s to support planning, coordinating and delivery of mine engineering activities.
Focus on production performance (actual vs planned).
Helping to prepare progress monitoring or site reports.
Maintaining accurate project documentation.

What you’ll bring

This role is ideal for people with ~2 to 3 years of post-grad experience.
Degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent & recognised qualification).
A keen interest in underground & metals mining.
Ability to follow instruction and communicate clearly.
Professional demeanour when representing MEC on site.
Current and unrestricted working rights for Australia.
