About the role
Conveniently located between Esk and Gatton, in a picturesque spot, our Brisbane Valley Feedlot carries approximately 3500 head of cattle. You'll join a small crew of 7 people and work a lifestyle friendly 10/4 roster. Working closely with other team members, you'll safely operate Mill machinery and equipment to ensure customised feed rations are distributed to feed cattle so the highest standards of animal health and nutrition are maintained.
You’ll be comfortable working in a structured environment, following procedures and be capable of learning to safely undertake a range of activities including:
- Operating feed truck
- Operating front end loader
- Perform basic vehicle and equipment maintenance
- Accurately follow ration formulas
- Monitor, measure, load and weigh commodities
- Tempering and milling grain
- Recording data and information
About you:
Previous experience in operating feed trucks and front end loaders is ideal, however full training for the right candidate will be provided.
- Competency to safely operate large scale machinery
- Mechanically minded
- Sound computer literacy
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Commitment to safety and quality
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills– both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively without supervision and within a close team environment
- Flexibility and willingness to undertake other duties within the feedlot
- Current manual drivers license
This is ideal role for a local Somerset/Lockyer resident, with their own reliable transport.
