About the opportunity
Working closely with the Director, Domestic Recruitment and Access, you will be responsible for developing and managing pre-tertiary widening participation and student recruitment strategies and associated programs of work, ensuring they are aligned with the University’s strategic directions and priorities. Striving to uplift our commencing students from underrepresented cohorts, you will drive the seamless execution of strategic projects to increase access to the University of Sydney. Partnering with other university units and high schools, you will lead initiatives to deliver an exceptional suite of consistent, university-wide support programs for our prospective students.
The Outreach and Access Manager leads a team to deliver outreach and recruitment programs aimed at attracting underrepresented students from Low Socio-Economic, regional and Remote regions and students studying in non-traditional areas. The role provides expert advice and guidance to the team and broader institution on increasing participation, scholarships and admissions pathways aimed at increasing participation.
The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking with customer focused approach, able to lead and provide best practice guidance to the Outreach and Access team.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Lead the Outreach and Access team on school outreach, access projects and pathways
Develop strategic initiatives to increase participation in the University of Sydney from underrepresented cohorts
Develop workshops in schools and with community partners
In collaboration with the Director, Domestic Recruitment and Access, develop a strategic plan to reach and engage Low Socio-economic status, regional and remote high schools, Indigenous students
Oversee and evaluate entry programs designed to recruit underrepresented cohorts
Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
About you

an inclusive leadership style that encourages and motivates high performance and the ability to have tactful performance conversations with direct reports as required
the ability to design and execute strategies to provide positive and seamless pre-student experience.
