The contribution you will bring to this role:
The Value Stream Manager – PVC / Sewing & Signs is responsible for leading the day-to-day operational performance of the PVC, Sewing and Signs business units. The role is accountable for delivering safe, efficient and reliable production outcomes, with a strong focus on on-time delivery, quality, production flow, inventory control and team leadership. This position plays a key role in ensuring production areas are well planned, well managed and continuously improving, while supporting customer requirements and business performance targets.

What you will do at Justrite:
Safety, Leadership and Team Management
- Lead, support and manage a production team of more than 25 employees across the PVC, Sewing and Signs areas.
- Promote a safe working environment and ensure team members follow company safety procedures, policies and standards.
- Conduct regular production Gemba walks to review safety, workflow, quality, housekeeping and team performance.
- Lead daily and weekly team communication through short interval control boards and area performance reviews.
- Conduct monthly 1:1 meetings with direct team members to review performance, engagement, development needs and any operational concerns.
- Complete annual performance reviews for team members in line with company requirements.
- Support employee training, cross-skilling and development to improve flexibility and capability across the value stream.
- Manage team attendance, conduct, performance and workplace issues in a fair and consistent manner.
Production Flow and Operational Performance
- Manage daily production workflow across the PVC, Sewing and Signs business units.
- Ensure production schedules are understood, communicated and executed effectively.
- Monitor and manage on-time delivery performance for the value stream.
- Identify, escalate and troubleshoot production issues that may impact safety, quality, delivery or efficiency.
- Work with production teams to remove blockers, reduce delays and maintain smooth production flow.
- Attend operations and production planning meetings to provide updates on capacity, constraints, labour requirements, customer priorities and delivery risks.
- Coordinate labour allocation across areas to meet business priorities.
- Manage weekly overtime requirements to support customer demand while maintaining cost control and workforce balance.
- Use short interval control processes to track progress, identify gaps and drive timely corrective actions.
Quality Management
- Manage and monitor quality output across the PVC, Sewing and Signs areas.
- Ensure products are manufactured to required specifications, standards and customer expectations.
- Track, review and support corrective actions for NCRs relating to the value stream.
- Work with quality, engineering and production teams to identify root causes of defects and implement sustainable improvements.
- Reinforce quality expectations with team members and ensure quality checks are completed as required.
- Support a culture of ownership where quality issues are identified early and addressed quickly.
Inventory and Stock Management
- Manage stock and inventory levels required to support production output.
- Work with planning, purchasing, warehousing and production teams to ensure required materials are available to meet production schedules. PD – Supply Planner 2025
- Monitor material shortages, stock accuracy and inventory risks that may impact delivery performance.
- Escalate stock constraints and support resolution of material availability issues.
- Promote good material handling, storage and housekeeping practices within the value stream.
Customer and Sales Support
- Liaise with the sales team to support customer enquiries relating to lead times, production status and delivery commitments.
- Provide clear and realistic feedback on production capability, customer priorities and order constraints.
- Support urgent customer requirements where practical while balancing overall production flow and business priorities.
- Communicate risks to customer delivery dates early and work with relevant teams to resolve issues.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and employee engagement within the value stream.
- Support Lean manufacturing activities, including Gemba walks, short interval control, problem solving and workflow improvements.
- Drive practical improvements to reduce waste, improve flow and increase productivity.
- Encourage team member involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Use performance data to identify trends and develop action plans

The role will be measured against key operational and leadership outcomes, including:
- On-time delivery performance for PVC, Sewing and Signs.
- Production schedule adherence.
- Quality performance and NCR reduction.

Your skills and expertise:
To ensure your success from day one in this role, Justrite requires the following qualifications at a minimum:
Basic Qualifications
- Previous experience leading a manufacturing, production or operational team.
- Strong understanding of production flow, daily scheduling and manufacturing performance management.
- Experience managing teams of 20+ employees.
- Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and make timely decisions.
- Strong communication and people leadership skills. PD – Supply Planner 2025
- Experience managing quality issues, NCRs or corrective actions.
- Good understanding of inventory, stock control and material availability.
- Ability to work with sales, planning and operations teams to support customer delivery requirements.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confident using production performance boards, daily management systems or similar tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in PVC fabrication, sewing, signage, manufacturing or similar production environments.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
- Experience with Gemba walks, short interval control boards or visual management systems.
- Experience managing overtime, labour planning and workforce flexibility.
- ERP or production planning system experience.
Compensation:
The compensation will be commensurate with experience. Additionally, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan to enhance their overall total compensation package when Justrite Safety Group and their business units achieve annual business and financial targets.
