Job Description

ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project.

The new transmission network infrastructure will deliver at least 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity from 2028 to connect 7.7 gigawatts of wind and solar projects, which is enough to power more than 2 million homes each year.

Job Description

Our Central-West Orana REZ Transmission Project is currently seeking experienced EWP Operators (72m) to support elevated work activities across transmission infrastructure construction.

This is a remote project position operating on a 14 days on / 7 days off roster. Bus transport is currently provided from Sydney only, with various pick-up and drop-off locations between Sydney and the Mudgee region.

Applicants located within NSW outside the Sydney transport route will be required to DIDO (Drive In Drive Out) at their own expense. Please note this is not a FIFO role, and candidates residing outside NSW will be required to arrange and fund their own travel to Sydney or the site if successful.

Key Responsibilities

Operating 72m Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs) to support safe access for overhead construction works
Positioning equipment safely to allow work at heights on transmission structures
Conducting pre-start checks and routine maintenance of EWP equipment
Working closely with linesmen, riggers and site crews to coordinate tasks
Ensuring compliance with lift plans, site procedures and safety requirements
Maintaining strict adherence to working at heights protocols and standards
Assisting with general site duties where required

Required Skills and Competencies

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

Minimum 5 years’ experience operating EWPs, including large boom lifts (72m or similar)
Valid High Risk Work Licence (WP) required
Experience in overhead transmission line or infrastructure projects highly desirable
Experience in renewable energy projects highly desirable
Current Working at Heights certification
Additional tickets (dogging, rigging, EWP rescue) highly desirable
Full C Class driver’s licence at minimum (HR/HC desirable)
Construction White Card
Own vehicle
Willing to undertake a pre-employment medical and police check
