Your opportunity:
This role is responsible for the financial accounting and reporting for total gross margin for the business across all TPG Telecom brands including Vodafone, TPG, iiNet, Lebara, Kogan and AAPT. Includes revenue reporting across all brands for postpaid and prepaid outgoing revenue, fixed and wireless broadband revenue, interconnect and roaming revenue and costs, customer investment, and other margin. This role is responsible for a team of approximately 15 staff.
Responsibilities:
Revenue & Gross Margin
- Ensure that all monthly gross margin reporting entries (both system and manual) are completed on a timely basis and accurately captured and accounted for in the Oracle GL financial systems.
- Responsible for the accurate recognition of revenue and gross margin related costs across all brands and verticals (customer & enterprise) at TPG Telecom.
- Ensuring revenue and costs for the group is recorded in accordance with group accounting policies.
- Assessing products and commercial arrangements through their life cycle in collaboration with the accounting governance team to ensure implications and accounting treatment is compliant with group accounting policy. Engaging tax team members to assess tax related aspects. Providing guidance to the business on the accounting and tax implications and document the accounting and tax related system flows, and associated transactions.
- For third party spend, ensure processes are in place for the reconciliation of settlement calculations to source systems, billing systems, and the General Ledger. Assisting with investigation and resolution of discrepancies between operational data, invoices and financial records.
- Take ownership for running the revenue and gross margin side of month end reviews with respective finance teams capturing actions and following up on outstandings. Provide insightful comments on key trends or anomalies impacting the results.
- Work closely with the external auditors as part of the annual and midyear audit of the financial statements and be the interface with support from the rest of finance and the business in providing the required information to deliver on the audit outcomes.
- Act as the Financial Control owner and representative to the Project Imagine team, ensuring that financial accounting and reporting impacts are being considered and tested throughout the project. Provide input on the timing and testing approach and lead broader communications with the rest of the Financial Control team to ensure relevant stakeholders are appropriately engaged.
- Ownership of the balance sheet reviews across all revenue and gross margin areas, investigate and resolve variances and comply with the company’s Balance Sheet reconciliation policies.
- Manage the processes completed by the shared services team in Pune & Manila including regular contact meetings and the setting of KPIs and controls.
What you’ll bring:
- Internationally recognised accounting qualification with 10+ years’ experience.
- Telecommunications industry experience preferred.
- Prior experience in an ASX listed company preferred.
- Ability to work independently to achieve results yet still able to maintain communication.
- Ability to provide practical solutions to complex business problems.
- Ability to work with whole of business and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced working knowledge of policies, practices, trends, technology, and information affecting area of responsibility.
- Align organisation culture with business strategy, customer focus and employee engagement.
- Successfully lead a cross-functional initiative with significant stakeholders and outcome.
