Love food, love moving fast, love a clean kitchen.

Café 0.6 is looking for an energetic Cook / Kitchenhand to join our kitchen team. If you’ve got café experience, take pride in good prep, and you’re keen to learn and grow — we want to hear from you.

The role

Part-time to start, with the potential to become full-time
1–2 years café experience preferred
You’ll work alongside our Kitchen Manager and the leadership team, supporting daily prep + service, while building your skills and confidence.

What you’ll be working on

You’ll help prepare high-quality food across:

Breakfast / Lunch / Brunch
Pastries & desserts
Catering & functions

What you’ll do day-to-day

Assist with prep and service support during busy periods
Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and running smoothly (0.6 standards)
Help with stock basics: rotating, labelling, storing correctly, and keeping things tidy
Receive deliveries and help check goods against orders
Reduce waste (proper storage, portioning support, smart prep)
Communicate with the Kitchen Manager so the team stays on track
Be reliable on the roster and ready to jump in where needed

Reporting & team

You’ll report to the Store Manager & Supervisor day-to-day, and work closely with the Kitchen Manager for kitchen tasks, standards, prep flow and training.

You MUST be

A hard worker with a good attitude (no ego, no drama)
Quick, clean, and able to follow systems
Comfortable working in a fast-paced café environment
No working holiday visa (must have full working rights)

Like learning new menu items + improving your skills
Care about consistency and presentation
