Jacobs is seeking an experienced Design Manager with experience in Transmission and Distribution Substations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and develop High Voltage Substation engineering capabilities while delivering critical Substation projects across the APAC region, with a core focus on Australian projects.
You could be a Design Manager with a range of Substations experience, or with a core technical focus, however we are open to Primary, Secondary or Protection experience. You'll experience continuous professional development and engagement with our Global Community of Practice along with a compelling remuneration and benefits package.
Key areas of focus:
Oversee the development of Secondary engineering deliverables, such as control and relay panel layouts and schematics, bill of materials and relay settings across distribution and transmission substations (22kV to 500kV).
Provide engineering design and project management of teams delivering consultancy engineering services and design packages for clients, including D&C (design & construction) design packages.
Manage multiple projects, ensuring quality deliverables, timely execution, and budget adherence while interacting and supporting other Substation disciplines.
Effective management of resources and project allocation.
Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
Positively liaise with clients and stakeholders, representing Jacobs as a trusted technical advisor.
Here's what you'll need
Proven experience in HV Substation Electrical Engineering, with a focus on Design Management of HV Substations.
Technical leadership skills with the ability to guide and develop a technical team.
Excellent project management and client relationship skills.
In depth knowledge of Australian standards and industry best practices (National Electricity Rules, AEMO Guidelines and Safety in Design).
Current CPEng and NER registrations.
