This is a Melbourne-based Senior Consultant opportunity in our Modern Workplace team, where you'll help organisations modernise workplace technology in ways that lift productivity, security and user experience.
What will your typical day look like?
From workplace transformation programs to targeted improvements in endpoint management or identity, your work will span the design, delivery and optimisation of modern workplace solutions. That could mean supporting a Microsoft Intune rollout, shaping an end user computing roadmap, improving collaboration through Microsoft 365, or helping a client strengthen device compliance and access controls.The problems you'll help solve sit at the intersection of user experience, security and operational performance. Working with client stakeholders and experienced practitioners, you'll translate technical complexity into practical recommendations that help organisations modernise confidently and get more value from their technology environments.As a Senior Consultant, you'll have the chance to take ownership of workstreams, contribute to client discussions, and keep building depth across a broad technology landscape. Variety comes with the role, as you collaborate with engineers, architects and client teams across areas like identity, endpoint, virtual desktop, automation and workplace security.

Deloitte's Engineering Practice, and specifically our Modern Workplace team, helps clients realise the potential of transformational workplace technology to solve complex business and technology challenges. The team works across end user computing, identity, collaboration, security, device management and cloud platforms, combining deep engineering capability with consulting expertise to help clients navigate technology change and build secure, modern workplace environments.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate skills and experience in the following:
EssentialExperience supporting, designing and/or delivering Modern Workplace, End User Computing, infrastructure, security or technology transformation initiatives.
Understanding of workplace technologies, technology vendors and the industries in which our clients operate.
Understanding of how IT functions operate, particularly within End User Computing, workplace technology, identity, security and service delivery domains.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical and well-considered solutions to business and technical challenges.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences through written documentation, workshops and presentations.Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet project deadlines and deliver quality outcomes.
Core End User Computing and Infrastructure Fundamentals
Understanding of enterprise identity and access management concepts, including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID , authentication, authorisation and federation.
Understanding of endpoint management concepts across Windows, macOS and mobile platforms.
Foundational knowledge of enterprise networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, PKI, remote access and connectivity services.
Understanding of device lifecycle management, operating system deployment and endpoint security principles.
Understanding of traditional and cloud-based infrastructure services and how they support modern workplace environments.
Understanding of security fundamentals including least privilege, Zero Trust principles, identity protection and endpoint security controls.
Technical Capability Areas
Experience across the following areas:
Endpoint management platforms such as Microsoft Intune, Configuration Manager (SCCM), Jamf or Workspace ONE.
Collaboration and productivity platforms such as Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive).
Identity and access management solutions such as Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta or Ping Identity.Modern workplace security capabilities including Conditional Access, device compliance, endpoint security and data protection controls.
Virtual desktop and remote access technologies such as Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365 or Citrix.
Mobility and device management technologies used to support modern workforce experiences.
Experience with scripting (Powershell or Bicep) for automation, configuration, and management of workplace technologies.
Desirable
Experience delivering technology projects within consulting, systems integration or enterprise IT environments.
Experience in project delivery or project coordination activities.
Experience in business change, adoption and user enablement initiatives.
Experience with networking solutions such as Zscaler/Checkpoint/Azure networking would be an advantageRelevant technology or industry certifications.
Understanding of emerging workplace technologies and trends, including AI-enabled workplace experiences.
Experience with SharePoint Online design, migration or information architecture activities.
Experience with low-code or no-code platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform.
Exposure to technology assessment, vendor evaluation or requirements gathering activities.
