Amazon Web Services Internet Edge Services organization is reimagining how the internet's edge operates through innovative software solutions. As a Software Development Manager, you'll work on AWS's global network to build and operate global decision-making traffic optimization solutions, unlock new use cases and deliver network experiences that delight our customers.
In this role, you will lead a team of software development engineers to understand requirements and extend platforms that support software-defined networks (SDN). You are joining a high performing team interacting closely with other engineering teams across USA and Australia.
Key job responsibilities
Lead an established high performing team to identify opportunities and deliver software defined traffic engineering solutions for AWS's internet edge networks leveraging your software background.
You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing indistinguishable from perfect global network at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

A day in the life
- Manage sprint planning for your in-flight projects.
- Prepare a project report for Director level review.
- Review a high level solution design and coordinate its review with key stakeholders.
- Lead a review of operational metrics to ensure continued improvement in the security, availability and effectiveness of services you own.
- Drive process and software improvements across the space
- Ensure your software engineers have a clear list of goals and projects to deliver and handle escalations from director level down
