About the role
We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our preeminent Public Law team. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to two of our award-winning Partners Briana Eastaugh and Terry Montebello, and a team of skilled lawyers.
There is plenty of variety in this role, with the key responsibilities including:
- Administrative Support: Email and diary management, coordination of internal and external meetings/functions and booking travel
- File Management: Opening and closing of matters including e-filing and physical archiving via Aderant Expert (billing) and iManage (document management) systems
- Document Preparation: Creating, drafting, editing and formatting a range of documents
- Billing & Reporting: Time entry, preparation and processing of monthly invoices
- Client Management: Maintaining the team’s client database
About you
You will be a proactive and passionate team member, who can maintain ownership of their role in a busy environment where no two days are the same. You will need to be able to demonstrate initiative, a willingness to learn, and display confidence and enthusiasm in completing all tasks. Above all we are looking for someone who is collaborative and proactive.
In addition to this, you will bring:
- Experience - familiarity with Section 173 Agreements and at least 3 years as a Legal Assistant in a law firm or other professional services environment
- Communication - excellent interpersonal skills, can confidently engage with clients and colleagues at all levels
- Proactive Approach - a self-starter, with the ability to adapt and remain organised in a dynamic environment
- Attention to detail - able to produce accurate, high-quality work within set timeframes
- Technical Skills - proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (experience with iManage and Aderant Expert is highly regarded)
