We are seeking a Senior Manager Strategic Procurement to Strategically manage and provide professional leadership to the team by guiding them through significant, varied and complex agreements including tender documentation, managing selection processes and addressing contractor issues and risks that impact across AV.
This is a full-time, ongoing position. While WFH/hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at our Doncaster headquarters and other locations as required, in line with our hybrid working model.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO), this key leadership role will be responsible for developing and maintaining an extended forward plan of procurement activity, reporting and collaboration with key stakeholders internally and externally. Responsibilities include (not limited to):

Provide specialist, authoritative advice and reporting to the CPO to enable and identify strategic planning activities and quality procurement outcomes

Lead and manage the Tender team and function in accordance with the business plans and relevant frameworks to achieve AV priorities and objectives

Complete strategic evaluation of tender options and alternatives ensuring value for money outcomes and compliance with government, legislative and statutory requirements

Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships within and outside of AV to advocate, improve commercial relationships, financial reporting and deliver achievable strategic procurement plans and outcomes

Leadership and mentoring of staff to support the wider provision of high-level specialist advice and professional service delivery, and effective business outcomes
About you
The ideal candidate will have completion of a tertiary degree in law, business, economics or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of training and extensive strategic procurement, tender, contract management or commercial negotiation/management experience. Other requirements include (not limited to):

Significant experience in leading the design, planning, execution and evaluation of procurement activities and methodologies, including contract management for large, complex service delivery organisations, ideally in a government context

Significant experience working in a financial environment, with commercial cost together with the capability to prepare well-structured, accurate and concise documents and reports

High level conceptual, financial, analytical and problem-solving skills and business acumen to explore viable alternative business solutions

Well-developed leadership, strategic planning and organising skills with proven ability to guide others to achieve objectives and deadlines

Advanced interpersonal, negotiation, collaborative engagement and influencing skills with a proven record in delivering high quality recommendations and solutions

Completion of a relevant postgraduate degree or training (desirable)
