The Role
The Procurement Officer is responsible for providing contract management, administration and advice, in relation to the management, interpretation and application of the contract for services. Contracts may include subcontractor arrangements with sole traders and other providers for various services including direct in-home care services and support, allied health, community services, garden and home maintenance. The role is responsible for maintaining MiCare’s contract register, currently managed on the Open Windows software solution. This involves liaising with contractors to ensure all required information is up-to-date.
Other responsibilities include supporting procurement projects and supporting MiCare staff members with their procurement needs.
Key Result Areas

Ensure effective administration, monitoring and governance of supplier contracts, maintaining compliance with contractual and organisational requirements

Provide procurement support and advice to internal stakeholders

Develop and maintain productive relationships with suppliers and internal customers to support service delivery, resolve issues and achieve positive procurement outcomes

Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract, supplier and procurement records ensuring data integrity and accessibility

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
Certificate III or higher in business administration, bookkeeping, Contract Management or related discipline
Extensive experience working in a similar role as Procurement Officer or Purchasing Officer / Specialist for complex environments
Experience
Good working knowledge of procurement practices.
Stock Management and Administration
Experience in contract development and/or management OR relevant project management experience
Demonstrated understanding of issues relating to provision of government-funded aged care services including the current reform agendas, funding contractual models, outputs and outcomes frameworks, compliance, and quality frameworks.
Clear understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards
Essential skills
Previous experience in a similar role with demonstrated knowledge.
Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, skills.
Good ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail.
Accuracy and a keen eye for detail.
Strong negotiating skills.
Ability to work cooperatively with other areas of the organisation to achieve agreed outcomes – teamwork.
Ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation, both written and verbal.
Experience within the aged care sector and/or a grant funded not-for-profit sector.
Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
The ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner within an ethno-specific environment.
A preparedness to work to the 10 principles of the Eden Alternative philosophy.
Self-motivated with a flexible, caring and patient attitude.
