Maylands Hotel is looking for a capable, customer-focused Gaming Room Manager to lead our gaming operations, develop our team, and maintain exceptional standards across service, compliance, and responsible gambling.

About the role
Reporting to the Venue Manager and working closely with our Group Gaming Operations team, you will be responsible for the effective, compliant, and profitable operation of the gaming room. You will be a hands-on leader who is visible on the floor, builds relationships with customers and ensures the team delivers friendly, attentive and responsible service.

Lead, train and support our Gaming Attendants and Supervisors.

Create a welcoming, safe and customer-focused gaming environment.

Manage rosters effectively while meeting operational needs and wage budgets.

Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness and service.

Oversee cash handling, treasury processes and gaming room reconciliations.

Ensure compliance with gaming legislation, Codes of Practice and responsible gambling requirements.

Maintain accurate gaming, training and compliance records.

Manage ARMS alerts, patron interactions, barring processes and relevant reporting.

Coordinate gaming promotions and ensure the team actively supports each campaign.

Monitor equipment, machine presentation and maintenance requirements.

Work collaboratively with the Venue Manager and broader hotel management team.

Participate in peak trading periods, weekends and a minimum of one to two closing shifts each week.
What you’ll bring

Proven gaming or hospitality leadership experience.

Strong knowledge of gaming operations, compliance and responsible gambling.

Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.

Sound cash-handling and administrative capabilities.

The ability to remain calm, professional and decisive under pressure.

A hands-on leadership style and willingness to lead from the floor.
You will hold the required South Australian gaming and hospitality certifications, including:
