Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Frontend Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining responsive and user-friendly web applications and digital interfaces. The role works closely with UI/UX designers, backend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, accessible, secure, and performant user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Develop responsive and interactive web applications using modern frontend technologies.
Build user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
Develop applications using frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into functional web interfaces.
Ensure websites and applications are responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Conduct unit, integration, cross-browser, and user-interface testing.
Identify and resolve performance, usability, compatibility, and technical issues.
Optimise websites for speed, accessibility, SEO, and overall user experience.
Collaborate with backend developers to ensure effective API and system integration.
Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.
Use Git and version-control systems to manage source code.
Work with DevOps teams to support CI/CD and application deployment.
Maintain technical documentation and contribute to development standards.
Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings, sprint planning, and product discussions.
Stay updated with emerging frontend technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
Proven experience as a Frontend Developer or Software Developer.
Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
Experience with React, Angular, Vue.js, or another modern frontend framework.
Understanding of responsive and mobile-first web development.
Experience integrating REST APIs and third-party services.
Familiarity with Git and version-control workflows.
Understanding of web accessibility, browser compatibility, and frontend security.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Good understanding of UI/UX principles.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with React.js, Next.js, Angular, Vue.js, or similar frameworks.
Knowledge of state-management libraries such as Redux, Zustand, or NgRx.
Experience with automated testing tools such as Jest, Cypress, or Playwright.
Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, and cloud-based development environments.
Knowledge of web performance optimisation and SEO.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development teams.
Understanding of Australian accessibility and digital-service standards.
Australian work rights or an appropriate Australian work visa.
