Job Description:
As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing practical assistance, emotional support, and companionship to individuals with disabilities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Supporting clients with household tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry.
- Accompanying clients to appointments, social outings, and recreational activities.
- Providing emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
- Implementing individualized support plans developed in collaboration with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Documenting client progress and reporting any concerns or incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
Requirements:
- Compassionate and empathetic nature.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Patience and understanding when working with individuals with diverse needs.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and relevant training.
- Previous experience in disability support or a related field preferred but not required.
