About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Spray Foam Insulation and Waterproofing Installer to join our team. This is a hands-on role responsible for the preparation, application and finishing of spray foam insulation, sealants and associated protective materials across residential, commercial and project sites.
The successful candidate will work as part of an installation team to ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with job specifications, manufacturer requirements and company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine plans, specifications and work sites to determine the type, quantity, location and application requirements of insulation and associated materials.
- Prepare work sites and surfaces for insulation installation, including cleaning, masking and protecting surrounding areas.
- Prepare safe access to installation areas, including the correct use and positioning of ladders, scaffolding and other access equipment.
- Set up and operate specialised equipment used to spray and apply foam insulation and associated materials.
- Apply spray foam insulation to walls, ceilings, roofing, cavities, underfloors, structural areas and other specified locations.
- Apply caulking, sealants, coatings and other protective materials to joints, gaps and penetrations as required to assist with preventing air and moisture penetration.
- Apply or spray protective coatings and materials to surfaces where required as part of the installation system.
- Measure, cut, shape and fit insulation and associated materials to suit specific installation areas.
- Ensure insulation and associated materials are installed to the required thickness, coverage, finish and quality standards.
- Inspect completed and existing insulation, sealing and protective systems to identify defects or areas requiring repair or rectification.
- Complete repairs, trimming, sealing and rectification work where required.
- Read and follow plans, technical specifications, manufacturer instructions, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and company procedures.
- Conduct pre-start checks and correctly set up spray equipment, hoses, tools and associated machinery.
- Monitor equipment and application performance throughout the installation process and make appropriate adjustments where required.
- Safely handle, prepare, apply and store spray foam chemicals, sealants, coatings and associated materials in accordance with manufacturer and safety requirements.
- Correctly use all required PPE and respiratory protective equipment.
- Identify and report workplace hazards, installation defects, equipment faults and product application issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the installation process.
- Clean, maintain and safely store spray foam equipment, tools and PPE following use.
- Complete required job documentation, measurements, photographs and installation records accurately.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Work effectively with other installers, supervisors, builders, clients and site personnel.
- Travel between job sites and undertake regional, project or away work where required.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in spray foam insulation, building insulation, waterproofing, construction or a similar trade-based role.
- Experience operating spray foam, insulation or specialised application equipment.
- Experience applying insulation, sealants, caulking, coatings or similar building materials is highly regarded.
- Ability to read and interpret job instructions, plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of safe insulation installation and construction site practices.
- Ability to accurately measure and calculate material and installation requirements.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolding and specialised installation equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing installations to the required specification.
- Ability to identify installation defects and undertake repairs or rectification work.
- Ability to follow manufacturer instructions and company procedures when handling and applying chemical products.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality and a high standard of workmanship.
Physical Requirements
Due to the nature of insulation installation, applicants must be physically capable of:
- Performing physically demanding and repetitive work.
- Working in roof spaces, wall cavities, underfloor areas and other restricted or confined spaces.
- Working at heights and using ladders and access equipment.
- Bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting and carrying equipment and materials.
- Working in varying temperatures and environmental conditions.
- Wearing respiratory protective equipment and other required PPE for extended periods where necessary.
Licences & Requirements
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Current Construction White Card.
- Appropriate Australian working rights.
- Relevant construction, insulation or trade qualifications are highly regarded.
- Relevant licences, registrations or tickets required for the work being performed.
- Previous industry experience is highly regarded.
- Willingness to undertake company training, safety training and competency assessments relating to spray foam installation and equipment operation.

Pay: $36.00 – $38.00 per hour
