Building on over 40 years of successful major project delivery, we are seeking an accomplished Construction Manager to join our Brisbane-based team.
This role presents a unique opportunity for an experienced Construction Manager who enjoys influencing projects long before construction commences. Initially joining our Precontracts team, you will play a key role in developing winning delivery strategies, methodologies, resource plans and construction solutions for major civil infrastructure tenders valued at $300M+.
Working alongside bid teams, estimators, engineers and executive leadership, you will contribute to and, in some cases, lead major project pursuits, helping shape Bielby's future project portfolio. Following the successful award of a project, you will transition into a project-based Construction Manager position, leading the delivery function on major metropolitan or regional infrastructure projects.
Reporting to a Project Manager or Project Director, you will take ownership of construction delivery, with engineering, project delivery and site teams working under your leadership to achieve outstanding project outcomes.
What You'll Do

Lead construction inputs into major civil infrastructure tenders and project pursuits.

Develop construction methodologies, staging plans, resourcing strategies and delivery solutions.

Contribute to tender strategy, risk reviews, client presentations and bid workshops.

Provide practical construction insight to maximise project competitiveness and deliverability.

Work closely with engineering, commercial and estimating teams during bid development.

Identify construction risks and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies.

Support project mobilisation activities following successful contract award.

Lead delivery teams across major infrastructure projects as Construction Manager.

Manage engineering, project delivery and site teams to ensure safe, efficient and profitable project delivery.

Drive performance across safety, quality, programme, productivity and client satisfaction objectives.
What You'll Bring

15+ years' experience delivering major civil infrastructure projects.

Extensive experience in construction leadership roles on road, bridge, transport or major infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of Design & Construct project delivery environments.

Demonstrated experience contributing to major tenders, bids or project pursuits.

Strong expertise in construction methodology, planning, staging and project execution.

Proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary delivery teams.

Experience managing engineers, supervisors and project delivery personnel.

Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project risk management.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

A practical leadership style with a strong focus on delivery, accountability and team performance.
