Albury Wodonga Health is seeking a compassionate Volunteer Coordinator to lead and support our Palliative Care Volunteer Program.

In this rewarding role, you will coordinate the recruitment, training, support and ongoing engagement of volunteers who provide valuable companionship and practical support to palliative care patients, carers and families. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will ensure volunteers are well equipped to contribute to a high-quality, person-centred service.

The Volunteer Coordinator, Palliative Care Program will be a valued member of the Community Palliative Care Team, coordinating and supporting a dedicated volunteer workforce that enhances the care and wellbeing of palliative care patients, carers and families. The role is responsible for the recruitment, training, supervision, support and ongoing development of volunteers, while fostering strong partnerships with patients, carers, staff and community stakeholders to deliver a high-quality volunteer service.

We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.

About You

You will have:
Qualifications, skills and experience relevant to coordinating volunteers in a community-based environment.
An understanding of palliative care and the needs of patients and carers that can be supported through volunteer services.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse client groups and stakeholders while positively motivating and supporting others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of an organisation.
Strong organisational and administrative skills, including experience managing schedules, databases, records and workflows.

Employment Type: This is a fixed-term part time (16 hours per week) opportunity for 12 months.
