Full Job Description

Cavallini Artisan Bakery is a family-owned European patisserie located in Fitzroy North. For the past 20 years, we’ve been proudly creating high-quality cakes, pastries, and baked goods for our loyal customers.

We are currently seeking a trade-qualified Pastry Sous Chef with a passion for cake decorating, pastry production, savouries and strong leadership in a busy kitchen environment.

About the Role:

Minimum 5 years of industry experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership position
A portfolio of previous work in a Assistant or Sous Pastry Chef role
Experience with medium-scale preparation and working to tight deadlines highly regarded
Kitchen management responsibilities, including purchasing, quality control & managing a small team.

Key Responsibilities:

Baking and decorating a wide range of cakes and pastries from scratch
Leading and working collaboratively with a team of professionals
Working with the Directors to enhance processes and procedures
Developing and introducing new product
Managing kitchen staff in a fast-paced, diverse operation

What We’re Looking For:

A hard-working, reliable individual with a strong work ethic
Proven experience (references required)
A passion for high-quality pastry and cake production

The Details:

Full-time role
Operation runs 7 days a week
Regular roster: Sundays and Mondays off (flexible if required)
