The Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Lead to join a high-performing delivery team.

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on leading testing activities across complex technology projects while ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services. You will be responsible for managing QA resources, driving testing best practices, overseeing field and lab testing activities, and working closely with business, development, and engineering teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

The ideal candidate will bring strong manual testing expertise, proven leadership experience, and deep hands-on knowledge of QXDM, field testing, lab testing, and defect management using JIRA.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of QA Engineers to deliver high-quality testing outcomes across multiple projects.
Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test execution activities.
Conduct and coordinate field testing and lab testing activities to validate product quality, performance, and reliability.
Utilise QXDM to analyse logs, investigate issues, perform troubleshooting, and support root cause analysis for mobile devices and applications.
Manage defect lifecycles using JIRA, ensuring accurate tracking, prioritisation, communication, and timely resolution.
Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, and engineering teams to understand requirements and ensure quality objectives are met.
Review requirements, specifications, and technical designs to provide early feedback on quality risks and testing approaches.
Drive test execution activities across functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing phases.
Monitor and report on testing progress, quality metrics, defect trends, and project risks.
Mentor and coach junior QA team members, promoting testing best practices and continuous skill development.
Support release activities and provide quality sign-off recommendations.
Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, methodologies, tooling, and team efficiency.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality engineering and delivery excellence.

What You'll Need

Experience in a QA Lead, Test Lead, Project Lead, or Senior QA role.
Strong hands-on experience with QXDM (essential and non-negotiable).
Extensive experience in manual testing methodologies, processes, and best practices.
Experience conducting both field testing and lab testing activities.
Strong experience using JIRA for defect tracking, test management, and project coordination.
Ability to develop test plans, test strategies, test cases, and test reports.
Experience investigating defects, performing root cause analysis, and driving issue resolution.
Strong understanding of the software testing lifecycle and quality assurance frameworks.
Experience supporting projects through the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership capabilities.
Proven experience mentoring testers and leading quality assurance activities across complex projects.

Desirable Skills

Experience with mobile device and mobile application testing.
Exposure to automated testing tools and frameworks.
Experience with performance, load, or reliability testing.
Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and iterative delivery methodologies.
Experience working within telecommunications, mobile network, or device testing environments.
Knowledge of test management and reporting tools.
Experience coordinating UAT, SIT, and production validation activities.
Exposure to CI/CD processes and modern delivery practices.
