The opportunity
Premier Data is seeking an experienced Developer Programmer to help develop, maintain and scale our Football technology platform as we expand into the UK market.
This is a hands-on, full-stack development position focused on building reliable, scalable and responsive technology for football clubs, competitions, coaches, analysts and commercial partners.
You will work closely with our Technical Lead and cross-functional teams to modernise existing platforms, improve system reliability and deliver technology improvements that support data quality, operational efficiency and future product growth.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and improve full-stack software applications
- Work across C#, .NET, React and modern front-end technologies
- Design, develop and maintain SQL databases and REST APIs
- Support and improve AWS cloud infrastructure
- Contribute to video-processing and sports analytics technology
- Support the practical application of artificial intelligence, machine learning and workflow automation
- Assist with the modernisation of existing systems and platforms
- Improve system reliability, performance, scalability and data integrity
- Prepare and maintain clear technical and system documentation
- Troubleshoot technical issues and implement practical solutions
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the business
Qualifications and experience
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- A relevant degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering or a related discipline, together with at least 12 months of relevant professional experience as a Developer Programmer or in a closely related software-development role; or
- At least five years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a relevant qualification
- Practical full-stack software-development experience
- Experience working with databases, APIs and cloud-based environments
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
- The ability to document systems and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A collaborative, accountable and results-focused approach
Preferred experience
Experience or knowledge of the UK football market is preferred but is not essential.
Candidates with experience in football, sports technology, performance analysis, video analysis or a sports-related software platform will be highly regarded.
Applicants without football industry experience are also encouraged to apply where they demonstrate the required qualifications and development experience, together with an interest in learning Premier Data’s products, customers and football operating environment.
Location and working arrangements
The position is based in Melbourne and offers hybrid working arrangements.
