We are seeking a Senior Engineer – Roads & Highway (Traffic & Transport) to join our Adelaide team and support the delivery of transport infrastructure projects across South Australia and nationally.
This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of traffic engineering, transport planning and advisory projects, while collaborating closely with our Roads & Highways team. You'll contribute to the planning, assessment and design of transport networks and infrastructure, helping clients navigate complex challenges through practical, evidence-based solutions.
Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will play a key role in technical delivery, stakeholder engagement and project coordination, supporting the successful delivery of projects from concept planning through to detailed design and implementation.

Deliver high-quality traffic engineering and transport planning outcomes across a diverse portfolio of projects

Undertake traffic impact assessments, transport studies and intersection analysis

Contribute to road safety assessments, network planning and active transport initiatives

Provide technical input across road design, transport planning and traffic engineering deliverables

Prepare and review technical reports, feasibility studies and client submissions

Interpret client requirements and translate them into practical and sustainable transport solutions

Ensure work complies with relevant Austroads guidelines, Australian Standards and client requirements

Collaborate with project teams, government agencies and key stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes

Support project delivery through effective planning, coordination and risk identification

Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities to support business growth

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of technical capability within the team
You are a motivated and commercially aware professional with experience delivering traffic engineering, transport planning or transport advisory projects within a consulting environment.
You enjoy working across the full project lifecycle, balancing technical excellence with client service and stakeholder engagement.

Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering or a related discipline.

Approximately 6+ years' experience within traffic engineering, transport planning, roads or transport infrastructure projects.

Experience preparing transport studies, traffic impact assessments, road safety assessments or similar advisory deliverables.

Strong understanding of Austroads guidelines, Australian Standards and local authority requirements.

Experience using traffic analysis and modelling software such as SIDRA, Aimsun, VISSIM, or similar.

Exposure to road design projects and multidisciplinary transport infrastructure environments.

Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.

Excellent written communication skills, including preparation of technical reports and presentations.

Ability to manage competing priorities and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously.

Collaborative approach with a willingness to support team development and mentoring.

Chartered or working towards Chartered status would be highly regarded.
