HeadBox Australia is a next-generation events agency; combining beautiful technology with world-class events expertise to solve client challenges and create exceptional experiences.

HeadBox partners with organisations to support them in delivering their annual program of events. Ranging from single-day conferences to destination events, this role offers a huge range of variety for a highly skilled Event Manager. We’re an ambitious team with big goals and are looking for someone who is ready to join a high-growth brand with an abundance of opportunity.

We work with our clients as an extension of their team in delivering their events, and this is where you come in. We’re looking for a professional who is experienced in delivering multi-faceted, high-value events, capable of spinning multiple plates, and highly personable with clients.

The Role

The Event Manager role can be based in either Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne, working on events from start to finish across Australia. We are looking for someone ambitious - a self-starter, a problem solver, a creative, and someone ready to get stuck in!

Confidence and organisation will be key to this role, as you correspond with a range of senior stakeholders and manage multiple events and tasks simultaneously.

Note: This role requires a minimum of four years’ corporate event management experience.

Responsibilities

End-to-End Event Management: Manage events from inception to completion. This includes pitching original concepts, project managing key deadlines, contract negotiation, supplier engagement, stakeholder management, preparing pre-event documentation, onsite delivery, and final debriefs.
Pitching & Presentation: Confidently present and pitch event experiences to senior stakeholders with credibility. You can handle feedback and objections with ease while providing creative, actionable solutions.
Commercial Acumen: Manage client budgets, negotiate costs, and understand the appropriate resourcing requirements needed for successful event execution. We need someone commercially minded to ensure budgets are managed efficiently and accurately.
Excellent Customer Service: We put clients at the centre of everything we do, which means delivering brilliant customer service at every touchpoint. High-level written and verbal communication skills, along with a sharp eye for detail, are essential.
Client Relationships: Build and retain strong relationships with your clients to ensure you become their go-to planner and manager for all future events.

Requirements

Experience: A minimum of 4 years’ experience in managing corporate events. You are a team player who can confidently manage a wider onsite team, as well as navigate complex supplier and stakeholder requirements.
Attention to Detail: Because you will be dealing with multiple events at any one time, you must be highly detail-oriented and organised.
Hardworking & Agile: In a scale-up environment, you will be required to wear many hats. You must be able to balance multiple responsibilities at once and bring a proactive, can-do attitude to the team.
