Your role
The Test Automation Specialist works as part of as multi-disciplinary team responsible for responding to changing requirements and business priorities to provide a large and complex automated regression suite for the applications in use by Courts, Tribunals and Service Delivery.
This is a highly technical role that requires expert knowledge in all aspects of the automation framework. The role requires high-level skills in administering automation tools, writing and reviewing code, as well as reporting and managing defects
What you’ll do
Collaborate with Test Analysts, Managers, Software and Automation Engineers, and key stakeholders to deliver and maintain a fit-for-purpose automated regression suite.
Develop, maintain, and continuously improve automation frameworks to support organisational testing requirements and application quality.
Perform peer code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure automation code meets quality, efficiency, and risk management standards.
Administer and support development and deployment tools, including code repositories, Jenkins, Bamboo, branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and security controls.
Execute automated testing, analyse and report results, log and investigate defects, and resolve issues within automation scripts and frameworks.
Maintain automation and testing documentation, perform administrative tasks for the JusticeLink application, stay current with application developments, and effectively manage competing priorities across multiple products and testing methodologies.
What we’re looking for
Test Automation & Quality Assurance – Strong experience developing, maintaining, and executing automated testing frameworks and regression suites, with a focus on delivering high-quality, reliable software outcomes.
CI/CD & Technical Administration – Proficiency in managing source code repositories, Jenkins, Bamboo, branching strategies, pipelines, and automation infrastructure to support efficient software delivery.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management – Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, conduct peer code reviews, communicate test outcomes and defects, manage competing priorities, and adapt to both agile and traditional testing environments.

Key knowledge and experience
Experience in a similar role, along with experience in or demonstrated understanding of the following programs/applications/technologies:
Strong experience in administering and maintaining test automation suites
Strong experience administering and using SoapUI GUI and API
Good experience with Groovy, Windows batch scripts and Allure framework
Experience using JIRA, Confluence, qTest and BitBucket
A working knowledge of webservices
Knowledge of the Department's applications and business practices
Essential requirements
Experience in a similar role, along with experience in or demonstrated understanding of the following programs/applications/technologies is essential:
Managing and maintaining test automation framework including Java, Selenium, JUnit and Maven
Knowledge of the Department’s case management application, JusticeLink
Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and JDBC
The use, and administration, of GIT, Jenkins and Bamboo
