Role can be based in Sydney or at an approved RA office in NSW by negotiation, with flexible work options and hybrid arrangements available.
Clerk Grade 9/10, salary relative to experience, and ranges from $133,348 - $146,945 + super.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Program Officer to join the Partnerships and Program Delivery branch. This is a pivotal role responsible for managing complex and sensitive casework, coordinating branch priorities, and ensuring the successful delivery of key commitments that support disaster preparedness, response, recovery and community resilience across NSW.
Working in a fast-paced environment, you will provide high-quality program coordination, governance and reporting support, while building strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders. You will play a key role in tracking and progressing high-priority matters, identifying and managing risks, and providing timely advice that supports informed decision-making and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and coordinating complex casework and high-priority branch matters to ensure timely and effective outcomes.
Driving the development and delivery of program initiatives that support statewide disaster management and community resilience objectives.
Monitoring branch commitments, actions and deliverables, ensuring risks, issues and emerging priorities are identified, managed and escalated appropriately.
Providing expert advice, insights and recommendations to support program implementation and strategic decision-making.
Leading and contributing to quantitative and qualitative research to inform evidence-based program development and continuous improvement.
Preparing high-quality briefs, reports, correspondence and other governance documentation for senior leaders and government stakeholders.
Coordinating governance, reporting and branch-wide activities to support accountability, transparency and operational performance.
Building and maintaining productive stakeholder relationships across government, industry and community partners to support collaborative program outcomes.
Supporting effective information flow across teams and facilitating coordination across multiple projects and priorities.
About You
You are a proactive, solutions-focused professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys bringing structure, coordination and momentum to critical pieces of work. Comfortable managing competing priorities, you have strong judgement, excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to translate complex issues into practical actions and outcomes.
You bring experience working within government or similarly complex environments and have a strong understanding of program coordination, governance and stakeholder management. Most importantly, you are committed to delivering high-quality outcomes that contribute to stronger communities and improved resilience across NSW.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Experience designing, coordinating and delivering government programs or complex initiatives.
Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
Proven experience coordinating sensitive or high-profile matters and driving outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
Exceptional written communication skills, including the preparation of briefs, reports, correspondence and governance documentation.
Strong analytical and research capability, with the ability to identify emerging issues and develop evidence-based recommendations.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with a collaborative and influential approach.
Sound judgement and problem-solving abilities, particularly in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
A keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to governance, accountability and continuous improvement.
Knowledge of, or interest in, disaster management, resilience, emergency management or related public sector programs will be highly regarded.
