As our newly created Data Architect & Governance Lead, you will play a pivotal role in defining and governing our enterprise data architecture, ensuring our data is trusted, secure and positioned to unlock greater business value. Working at the intersection of architecture, governance, cybersecurity and digital transformation, you'll help build the foundations that enable analytics, AI and smarter decision-making across the organisation.
The Opportunity
This is a strategic leadership role where you'll drive the evolution of Mirvac's enterprise data landscape. You'll provide architectural direction across data platforms, including Snowflake and Power BI, while establishing governance frameworks, standards and controls that enable scalable, secure and high-quality data across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Data Architecture
- Define and evolve enterprise-wide data architecture principles, standards and patterns.

Establish current and future-state data architecture aligned to business and technology strategy.

Provide architectural leadership across data domains, platforms, integrations and data flows.
Data Platforms & Modernisation
- Guide the design of cloud-based data platforms, models, pipelines and storage architectures.

Ensure platforms and data ingestion are scalable, secure, cost-efficient and aligned to enterprise standards.

Drive modernisation initiatives, to rationalise data stores and platforms to reduce duplication and promote reuse.
- Build AI-ready data foundations that support innovation and advanced analytics.
Data Governance & Security
- Develop and embed enterprise data governance frameworks and controls.

Establish governance approaches covering ownership, stewardship, privacy, retention and compliance requirements.

Embed data governance, policy and control requirements and embed security by design into solution designs.

Promote trusted and governed use of both structured and unstructured data across collaboration tools and repositories.

Identify and manage data risk, technical debt and fragmentation.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work collaboratively with Digital, Architecture, Cybersecurity, Risk and business stakeholders.

Influence senior leaders and provide practical guidance that enables effective and governed data use across Mirvac.
About You
You'll be a strategic thinker with a passion for building modern, secure and scalable data environments. You balance architecture excellence with practical delivery and enjoy influencing stakeholders across complex organisations.
You'll bring:
- 10+ years experience in data architecture or data-focused engineering roles.

Experience working in enterprise-scale environments and cloud data platforms such as Snowflake.

Proven capability developing and implementing data governance frameworks.

Strong understanding of data architecture, modelling, integration and governance practices.

Knowledge of privacy, security and risk management principles.

Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes.
