The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.
Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.
Purpose of the Role
The Learning and Development Officer combines training administration coverage, training facilitation and instructional design to ensure the Training Department’s programs, resources and learning materials remain current, accessible and effective. This role improves existing and develops new training resources, delivers training programs, and provides administrative coverage across the Training Department as required.
Qualifications
- Construction White Card - mandatory
- Cert IV in a Training & Assessment of comparable – mandatory
- Cert III in Business Administration or comparable - preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a training administration function
- Strong facilitation skills with a sound understanding of adult learning principles
- Demonstrated experience developing training resources, such as e-learning modules, presentations or workshop content
- Skilled in administering Learning Management Systems (LMS) and supporting users
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and training management software
- Working knowledge of construction industry environments
- Awareness of FIFO environment with camp accommodation
Required Competencies
- Skilled in the administration and use of Learning Management Systems and training management software
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodology
- Skilled in developing engaging training resources, including e-learning modules, presentations, onboarding resources and toolbox talks
- Strong organisational capability to manage training schedules, materials and records
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences
- Effective workload management skills to prioritise multiple concurrent and critical deadlines
- Keen attention to detail to maintain quality scheduling data, documentation and training resource standards
- Excellent customer service management and ability to support training participants
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities
- Strong initiative and proactive personality
- Effective collaborative and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Provide administrative coverage for the Training Department as required, including scheduling, booking of resources and data entry
- Coordinate and administer training activities, inclusive of scheduling and booking resources
- Maintain accurate training records, including participant lists, attendance and evaluations
- Arrange logistics for training sessions, such as room bookings, equipment, work area setup and materials distribution
- Communicate training schedules, updates and reminders to participants, their supervisors and training staff
- Timely prepare reports on training activities, attendance, feedback and resource development
- Provide administrative and technical support to training staff and participants
- Identify, assess and respond to organisational training and capability development needs
- Design, develop and continuously improve training resources and materials
- Own and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring content remains current, accessible and engaging
- Deliver onboarding, induction, face-to-face, virtual and blended training programs across all levels of the business
- Identify and recommend enhancement opportunities for training processes, materials and resources
