With increasing customer demand, expanding operational requirements, and continued business growth, Shareefs Concord Pty Ltd requires an experienced Retail Manager to provide dedicated operational leadership across the restaurant's daily operations. The role is essential to maintaining service quality, managing workforce performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the continued growth and sustainability of the business.
Position Overview
The Retail Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of the restaurant's daily operations, ensuring efficient service delivery, strong financial performance, exceptional customer experiences, and effective workforce management. The position requires hands-on leadership within a high-volume hospitality environment and accountability for operational compliance, people management, inventory control, food quality standards, and business performance.
Working closely with kitchen staff, customer service employees, suppliers, and senior management, the Retail Manager plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence while ensuring that Shareef's continues to deliver authentic Lebanese cuisine and outstanding hospitality experiences to its customers.
This is a senior operational position ideally suited to an experienced hospitality professional capable of leading teams, maintaining operational standards, and driving continuous business improvement within a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
Restaurant Operations and Performance
- Plan, coordinate, and manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant to achieve sales, service, and productivity objectives.
- Ensure consistent compliance with operational procedures, food safety standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Monitor business performance indicators, including labour costs, food costs, wastage, profitability, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, customer service, and restaurant presentation.
Leadership and Workforce Management
- Recruit, train, roster, supervise, and motivate restaurant employees across customer service and kitchen operations.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Foster a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability, customer service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Manage staffing requirements to ensure adequate workforce coverage during peak trading periods.
Customer Service and Hospitality Management
- Oversee customer service delivery across dine-in, takeaway, catering, and delivery service channels.
- Resolve customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Maintain exceptional hospitality standards that enhance customer satisfaction and encourage repeat patronage.
- Monitor customer experiences and implement service improvements where appropriate.
Inventory Management and Cost Control
- Manage inventory levels, supplier relationships, stock ordering, deliveries, and stock rotation processes.
- Conduct regular stocktakes and implement cost control measures to minimise wastage and maximise profitability.
- Monitor operational expenditure and identify opportunities to improve business performance.
- Ensure restaurant equipment and operational assets are appropriately maintained and fully operational.
Compliance and Administration
- Ensure compliance with Fair Work obligations, food safety legislation, workplace health and safety requirements, and internal operational policies.
- Prepare operational reports, sales summaries, stock reports, and performance data as required by management.
- Maintain accurate business records and implement organisational policies and procedures across all operational areas.
- Assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives that support operational excellence and business sustainability.
Skills & Experience
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in retail or hospitality management within a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership capability with demonstrated experience managing teams and rosters
- Sound understanding of cost control, inventory management, and retail performance metrics
- High level of organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
- At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.
- Current food safety certification or willingness to obtain
- Prior experience within QSR or franchised food retail operations
Work Environment
The Retail Manager role is hands-on and operational, requiring active involvement on the shop floor alongside the team. The position demands strong time management, an open schedule resilience under pressure, and the ability to lead by example in a high-volume service environment.
