We work with a range of clients across a range of sectors including large private and listed businesses, high net wealth, family groups, start-ups, early-stage high growth businesses, and Australian subsidiaries of multinational businesses.

Job Description

Your Opportunity

As an Associate Director, you will play a key leadership role supporting a diverse client portfolio across a diverse client base.

You will:

Lead income tax-focused advisory work across a range of areas, such as business/group restructures, mergers and acquisitions and international expansion
Lead client engagements covering income tax issues such as capital gains tax rollovers, tax consolidation, tax loss utilisation, Division 7A, thin capitalisation and significant global entities
Deliver income tax returns across a broad range of clients covering corporate, international and private groups, including companies and trusts
Lead ATO reviews and audits for a diverse client base and collaborate with the ATO
Deliver tax risk management and governance frameworks for businesses & groups
Ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely delivery of all client work
Build and maintain client relationships through regular engagement and high-quality delivery
Collaborate with the wider KPMG firm to deliver integrated client outcomes
Support the development and coaching of team members and contribute to a positive team culture
Contribute to broader team success and development through leading tax training and thought leadership initiatives.
Lead management of on-going team initiatives such as workflow management, process improvement and team building

To be successful, you will bring:

Proven experience in leading income tax compliance and advisory engagements within a professional services or corporate environment
Strong experience with delivering tax advisory focused engagements for a broad range of clients
Strong exposure to a range of income tax issues across a broad range of clients, including corporate, international and private focused.
Ability to stay up to date with tax legislation, ATO guidance and relevant case law and engagement in thought leadership with clients and team members
Strong technical capability across tax compliance and advisory with a hands-on delivery focus
Strong stakeholder management skills with a client-centric approach and an ability to successfully lead client engagement and relationships
Excellent communicator and willingness to work collaboratively in teams
Experience in coaching and supporting team members
Strong experience in leading teams and optimisation of processes

Qualifications

CA / CPA (or equivalent) or currently studying towards qualification
Relevant tertiary qualifications
