Within the Power Grids service area, the Power Grid Assets team supports electricity utilities, developers, investors, asset owners and infrastructure operators across the asset lifecycle. Our work is typically techno-economic in nature, providing independent decision-making support for planning, development, maintenance, replacement, risk management and performance improvement of power grid assets.
The team also supports the energy transition through advisory services for HVDC and HVAC transmission systems, FACTS and grid support technologies, high-voltage substations, SCADA, control and communications systems, renewable energy integration, grid connection infrastructure, asset management and digitalization. We help clients make practical, evidence-based technical and commercial decisions in a rapidly changing power system.
In late 2025, DNV acquired Amplitude Consultants, a company with a strong track record of delivering successful HVDC and FACTS engagements to clients in the Asia-Pacific Region. The combined HVDC and FACTS capabilities of DNV and Amplitude has established DNV as the largest independent HVDC and FACTS advisory consultancy in the Asia Pacific region. DNV’s growing portfolio of HVDC and FACTS projects includes HVDC transmission systems and interconnectors and/or FACTS projects proposed, under development or in the process of being upgraded in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region, and includes key projects in Asia that are focused on connecting countries and jurisdictions.
It is an exciting time to be working in the HVDC and FACTS space in the region. The demand for interconnection between countries and regions is being driven by the need to allow large load centers to access clean, renewable energy sources.
With this, we are looking to expand our HVDC advisory team further. The role is focused on providing technical consulting services to DNV’s clients in the concept development, feasibility, delivery and operational support for HVDC, FACTS and land and submarine cable projects across the Asia-Pacific region and other parts of the globe. We are looking for someone with experience, either with HVDC, FACTS, underground or subsea HVDC cables or with technologies similar in nature, such as applications involving high voltage power electronics and/or complex control, protection and auxiliary systems. The successful candidate will join a team of well-respected experts in these fields and will have the opportunity to develop and expand their skills and capabilities with the guidance and support of these experts.
