About the Home

Bupa Ballina is a beautiful care home set in the scenic seaside town of Ballina on the North Coast of NSW. Located near the airport and beaches, this care home provides an awesome tropical landscape. It consists of 123 beds, with a variety of care units. Our primary goal is placing our focus on the health, lifestyle and well-being of our residents.

About the Role

As a Cook at one of our care homes you will provide well-presented and nutritious meals in a home like environment. Your passion for food along with your person-first approach will make a real difference to the life of our residents.

This is a permanent role paying between $31.45 to $40.24 subjected to the years of experience and qualifications.

Duties

Plan and prepare well balanced and nutritious meals for our residents
Liaise with residents, families, and the care team to ensure residents’ dietary, individual and cultural needs are met
Support the efficient functioning of kitchen and catering services
Comply with all infection control and food safety procedures
Perform administrative duties related to the kitchen operation such as stock taking, and food quality assessment

Skills and Experience

Previous experience in the preparation and delivery of meals within a similar environment
Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is preferred but not essential
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to solve problems independently
