Field Technician

Our Opportunity

Work location: Opportunities across all Pilbara sites

Roster: 8 days on & 6 days off, FIFO ex Perth

Fortescue is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Field Technicians to join Fortescue’s Resource Definition teams!

Key Responsibilities

Conduct escorts in the AOZ.
Work compliant with Fortescue standards and statutory obligations.
Support resource definition Geologists and Earthworks in their work and complete tasks as requested.
Investigate and correct reconciliations returned from the laboratories.
Dispatch samples to the laboratory
Fulfill performance objectives and KPI's.
Record sample bag numbers and enter correctly into the database
Provide initiatives for process improvements to supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

- Experience in a similar role in open pit mining is highly regarded
- Manual C Class driver’s license
- Forklift license highly regarded
- Proactive, highly motivated and enthusiastic. Willing to take on new challenges, work in a physically demanding job and learn new skills.
- A team player with a ‘can do’ and collaborative attitude
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and capable of building strong multi-departmental relationships
- Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- High attention to detail
