Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with Linux/Unix administration and internals.
2 years of experience with systems automation, and with systems design and implementation.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in automation and coding using languages such as Go, JavaScript, and Python.
Understanding of Linux/Unix administration and system internals.
Excellent troubleshooting skills within Linux and networking domains.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, both verbal and written.

In this role, you will be maintaining operational health and optimizing capacity. You will be improving the experience for end-users, with the aims and business goals of our internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Support Linux systems worldwide to ensure the consistent performance and reliability of Google’s content delivery network.
Collaborate with partner Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to provide remote technical troubleshooting and expertise in Internet Protocol (IP) networking.
Identify and lead initiatives to automate support workflows, optimize systems, and integrate new hardware or services.
Work in partnership with engineering teams, product managers, and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals and technical alignment.
Contribute to a global operational team by managing responsibilities during Sydney’s core business hours as part of a shared roster.
