Reports to: Finance Business Partner – Communities
The Opportunity
Joining Aveo as a Management Accountant, you will prepare and present timely and accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis to Community Managers to support the financial performance of our Aveo retirement villages. Working within a portfolio of QLD villages, you will develop positive relationships with stakeholders, such as residents & committees and partner with Community Managers to prepare village budgets, annual financial statements and quarterly financial statements.
Your Impact:
- Lead the preparation of Annual Budgets in collaboration with Community Managers, Regional Operations Managers and Resident Committees.
- Prepare and present quarterly financial statements and ad hoc monthly reports to stakeholders.
- Coordinate annual audits and ensure financial statements are finalised within legislated timeframes.
- Leverage data-driven PowerBI dashboards to perform variance analysis and identify key focus areas.
- Ensure accurate GST coding and maintain compliant Balance Sheet reconciliations for allocated communities.
- Act as the primary contact for your Community Managers, providing accounting and administrative support.
- Visit Aveo communities and build relationships with Resident Committees and assist with resolving financial concerns in consultation with key stakeholders.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience in a similar accounting or finance role (e.g. Financial Accountant, Analyst or Management Accountant)
- Degree qualification in Accounting or Finance, with CA or CPA desirable (or working towards)
- Exposure to Retirement Living, Aged Care, Property Management or Body Corporate legislation (desired, not essential).
- Ability to deliver high-quality financial insights and manage competing priorities
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confident across other financial systems (e.g. TechOne)
- Valid Driver's Licence + vehicle (required)
