About Us

The Pizza & Pasta Kitchen is an established hospitality business in Toongabbie, NSW, offering a diverse range of Italian and modern Australian cuisine in a welcoming dining environment. We are committed to delivering quality food, consistent service and a positive dining experience for our customers.

We are currently seeking an experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting daily kitchen operations, maintaining food quality and consistency, and contributing to the efficient delivery of our food services.

Employment: Full-time
Location: Toongabbie NSW 2146
Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation (depending upon experience & skills)

Main Duties

Prepare, season and cook a variety of Italian and modern Australian dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
Ensure meals are consistently prepared and presented to required quality, portion and presentation standards.
Assist with planning and updating menus, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients, customer preferences and operational requirements.
Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality, consistency and efficient service.
Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering food supplies and ensure appropriate stock rotation and storage.
Maintain food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards and ensure a clean and organised kitchen environment.
Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to support efficient day-to-day operations.
Supervise and provide guidance to junior kitchen staff where required.
Assist with controlling food wastage and maintaining efficient use of ingredients and kitchen resources.

Skills & Qualifications

Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or an equivalent relevant qualification.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a Chef in a restaurant environment.
Sound knowledge of food preparation, commercial kitchen operations and food safety requirements.
Ability to prepare and cook a variety of dishes while maintaining consistent quality and presentation standards.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Good communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a kitchen team.
