Bielby is experiencing a period of sustained growth, supported by a strong pipeline of infrastructure projects and continued expansion into new regions. Building on over 40 years of successful project delivery across roads, rail, water, resources and renewables, we are seeking an accomplished Commercial Manager to join our team and play a critical role in the delivery of a major $350M regional road restoration project.
Initially based in Sydney before mobilising to project, this role presents an outstanding opportunity to lead the commercial function on a major infrastructure project while contributing to Bielby's continued growth across New South Wales. Working closely with the Project Director and senior leadership team, you will be responsible for protecting and maximising project performance through strategic contract management, commercial leadership, risk management and stakeholder engagement.

What You'll Do

Lead all commercial aspects of the project from project commencement through to completion.

Manage contract administration activities, ensuring contractual compliance and protection of Bielby's commercial interests.

Oversee project forecasting, cost control, reporting, cash flow management and financial performance.

Lead the identification, preparation and negotiation of variations, claims and commercial opportunities.

Provide commercial guidance and support to project delivery teams and senior management.

Establish robust project controls, commercial governance and reporting frameworks.

Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiations, administration and performance.

Identify and mitigate commercial risks while developing strategies to maximise project outcomes.

Build trusted relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders.

Support future business growth by contributing to commercial strategies across NSW operations.
What You'll Bring
-
10+ years of commercial management experience within major civil infrastructure or construction projects.
-
Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, Commerce or a related discipline.

Demonstrated success managing commercial functions on large-scale road, transport or infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of construction contracts, claims management, procurement and project controls.

Proven experience with forecasting, cost management and financial reporting.

Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to lead teams and influence decision-making at both project and executive level.

A proactive and solutions-focused approach with strong commercial acumen.
